Hi, my name is Kathleen and I'm a museum intern at the Red Deer and
District Museum in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada.  I am currently working on a
project called (and writing a research report on) the Heritage Fair.  It is
a national project that is similar to a science fair and involves kids in
grades 4-9.  The students have to demonstrate research skills and
originality and create projects that are either 3-dimensional, creative
writing/dramatic performance, or audio visual.  The schools are teamed up
with museums in their area and each region has a museum professional on the
planning committees.   The Fair has been very successful and has increased
teacher and student awareness of what museums can offer to schools.  If you
