RE: American Association of Museums, Poster Session Call for Proposals
The Marketplace of Ideas at the 1998 AAM Annual Meeting in Los Angeles will be
held on Monday, May 11 from 3:30-5:30pm. This will be the opportunity for
CARE to showcase its “Current Trends in Audience Research and Evaluation” with
a poster session for all meeting delegates. The deadline for submitting a
proposal to do a poster is February 1, 1998.
Topics for posters can include any area of audience research or evaluation and
can be presented by museum staff, consultants, museum studies faculty and
students. Poster presentations should be applicable and understandable to a
broad range of museum professionals. The use of color and clear graphics will
help communicate your poster’s information.
If you would like to participate in the poster session, please submit a brief,
one-page narrative description of your project. Include a summary of your
objectives, procedures and findings, and explain how you are using this
information. Include the name of the person who will present the poster,
institution(s) involved, and relevant mailing addresses.
Presenters must be registered for the AAM meeting. Five complimentary
registrations for AAM--for the day of the poster session only--will be
available on
a “first come first served basis.” In your proposal, please indicate if you
need one.
Send a 250-word abstract for your poster by mail to:
Beverly Serrell, 5429 S. Dorchester Ave., Chicago IL 60615,
or by fax to 773-643-8460, or by e-mail to [log in to unmask]
by February 1, 1998.
Poster session proposals will be reviewed and selected by February 12 for
listing in the AAM Annual Program booklet.
