I believe that mixing shop displays in place other than the ancillary
areas of a museum is not appropriate. However, directing traffic through
the gift shop (or auxiliary shop area) at the end of an exhibit is only
smart marketing.
I worry that those who object to merchandising exhibit tie-ins in the
museum shop have a serious lack of understanding about the benefits of
earned income.
