I am seeking potential sources for reproducing "interlocking" linoleum
which was installed in 1916 in the 1st floor service areas at
Glenmont, Thomas A. Edison's estate. The reproduction floor covering
will be used in the restoration of the Edison's kitchen (and
eventually the Butler's Pantry) which currently has a more modern
linoleum floor. This "interlocking" linoleum is extant in one room
only: the Servants' Dining Room. It is battleship linoleum, in two
colors (dark green and gold). It literally looks like a puzzle: each
identically-shaped piece has been cut (maybe die-stamped) and linked
together to cover the floor. I have contacted two linoleum firms,
Gerbert Ltd and Forbo, but am seeking other options. Does anyone out
there have other suggestions?
