Position: Manager of Adult Programs

Reports to: Associate Director in charge of Education and Public Programs
Job Function:
Develops, coordinates, and administrates adult programs including lectures,
symposia, gallery talks, and other presentations relating to permanent
collections and special exhibitions.
Essential Functions:
1. Collaborate with curators and educators, as appropriate, to develop adult
programs. Conceptualize other programs including performance and
demonstrations.
2. Plan and coordinate publicity and other strategies for targeting and
building audiences.
3. Build relationships with universities and scholars, regional, national,
and international.
4. Responsible for reestablishing ongoing outreach programs, including
speaker's bureau directed to corporations and other programs for outreach
to community groups of all kinds.
5. Correspond with speakers, negotiate fees, and coordinate travel
arrangements.
6. Plan, develop, and manage Adult Programs budget.
7. Implement and manage all adult programs; introduce speakers, organize
entertainment, as necessary.
8. Implement evaluation processes for adult programs and audiences.
9. Manage and supervise occasional temporary volunteer staffing.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Manage educational video productions.
2. Participate in professional development efforts (i.e., conferences,
training, research).
3. Participate as a member of Education and Public Programs Management
staff.
Qualifications:
1. M. A. in Art History.
2. Three years experience with museum education programs for adults.
3. Ability to work effectively with teams.
4. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
