The easy way, if you have access to the world wide web, is to go to
http://home.ease.lsoft.com/archives/museum-l.html, where you can
search by keyword, subject line, author, and/or date.
For those people without web access, the archive is still accessible
using commands sent via email, the easiest of which is
SEARCH 'InsertKeywordBetweenSingleQuotes' in MUSEUM-L
You get a list of items (articles) that match your request and you can
retrieve them by then sending the
GETPOST MUSEUM-L ItemNumber
command.
Now, time to quote from the Listserv manual (I run another list, so I
happen to have the document here and am actually working on this EXACT
subject for my list's FAQ)
It is possible to add further parameters to your search in order
to narrow it. You can limit a search by date with a "since. . . "
predicate. Likewise, you can limit by sender and/or by the
subject line with a "where . . ." predicate. For instance:
Search 'Digest=' in LSTOWN-L since 94/01/01
Search 'Digest=' in LSTOWN-L where sender contains 'Thomas'
Search * in LSTOWN-L where sender is ERIC@SEARN
Search * in LSTOWN-L since 94/01/01 where subject contains
'Digest='
are all valid search commands that will (hopefully) dramatically
reduce the number of index or print entries returned to you.
note that DATES may be in Year/Month/Day order!
Hope this helps!
