Hi Heidi,
The Los Angeles County Museum of Art <http://www.lacma.org> has had
extended hours (10-9) on Fridays for years. This is very popular,
especially because it includes free jazz concerts in the museum's
central court area. In addition to the art and music, people may enjoy
dinner, have a glass of wine or beer, or even see a film at the museum's
Bing Theater. It gets really busy in the summer time.
Beginning June 30 of this year, LACMA will be extending its hours every
day, staying open until 8 p.m. (Fridays will remain the same as above,
and the museum will be closed on Wednesdays). We shall see how it goes!
