As far as I know, holiday allowances in the UK museums depend on what
sort of organisation it is. So, in local government funded museums,
the staff are on the same pay/benefits scales as all the other
council staff (which has occasionaly lead to conflicts as curators get one sort
of pay rating but education staff in museums get teaching contracts -
including school holidays). National musems staff were until very
recently on the civil servant scales & independant museums set
whatever pay they like.
As a general rule, the pay is crap.
