I am sending this to the list on behalf of a friend who is not on
Museum-L. Please respond to Jenny Yearous, NOT me. Thanks,
Nancy Russell

Subject: Re: African American Quilts
Dear Ms. Palmer,
A friend forwarded your message on Museum-L about looking for quilts. I
am the collections manager at the newly established International Quilt
Study Center at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. We recently
received a collection of 950 quilts from the private collection of Robert
and Ardis James. Our collection includes both traditional (antique) and
contemporary art quilts. I am not yet certain of our traditional
collection
but I will be happy to check the records to find out for sure. We do have
a
few contemporary quilts by African American Artists.
Specifically, quilts by Faith Ringgold and Anna Williams. I would be
happy to talk or correspond with any one concerning our collection and
its holdings.
You can reach me through e-mail at [log in to unmask]
or at
234 H.E. Building

You can also visit our Web site at
www.ianr.unl.edu/tcd/quilts/homepage.htm
The web site is new but it does tell you a little about us and the
collection. I hope this will be of help.

Collections Manager
