Hello,
there are some new sites from Germany on the WWW,
that you might be interested in:
http://www.esslingen.de/ausstell/english/index.html
Medieval Esslingen - Exhibitions on the history of the town
(11th May - 3rd August 1997)
- 'Von der Ordnung der Welt'
Stained glass windows from the 13th and 14th century
in the churches of Esslingen
- 'Friary - Mill - Tannery'
Excavations in the Carmelite Friary in Esslingen
- The Excavation Museum in the City Church St.Dionysius
http://www.dhm.de/museen/federsee/english.html
The Federseemuseum in Upper Swabia, SW-Germany.
14000 years of history: Late ice age reindeer hunters,
Stone and Bronze Age lake dwelling builders,
Bronze Age fortified villages and celtic places of sacrifice.
The exhibitions about the Ice Man mentioned in
the pages is over, but the next exhibition about
stone age hunting techniques is coming in July.
Not new, but still interesting:
http://www.dhm.de/museen/stein/stein_e.html
A virtual tour through a reconstructed roman villa
in Hechingen-Stein. This museum, which is supported
entirely by a private association without government
funding, has serious financial problems at the
moment. If you are in Germany this year, come and visit
the museum. More visitors are needed urgently. [If you happen
to know a generous millionaire with interest in roman
archaeology: sponsors are more than welcome :-) ]
All the pages mentioned are available in english and german.
All the best
