For textile collection storage you would do well to see the Art Institute
of Chicago (they have a built in mezzanine and special storage cabinets)
and the Textile Museum in Washington, DC (they have limited space and use
it optimally and safely, they also have a neat (cheap) hanging/support
system for rolled textiles). Another place worth the visit is the Detroit
Institute of Arts, not many costumes but lots of rolled and flat storage -
good use of commercially available steel racks in combination with acid
free boxes.
