This was originally posted on ARLIS-L a list for art librarians. Please
excuse the duplication. I thought some of you Museum-lers could answer some
of Ron's questions. I have cross-posted the message, any responses you may
have should be directed to him--see address at end of message.

The Santa Barbara Museum of Art is currently undergoing the process of AAM
reaccreditation. I would like to ask several questions that relate to that
process. First: what role have art museum libraries played in the AAM
process? Do you have notable experiences or any documents that you can
share with the list or that you might send me off list? Second: what
publications do you think best explain, in detail and/or in broad
overview, the role/significance/function/operations of an art museum
library?
