The Johnson County Museum in Shawnee, Kansas is currently in the
process of restoring a 1953 Kansas City Power & Light All Electric
House. This model home is due to open to the public in the spring
of 1998. We are still seeking some items for the restoration:
A combination "glass and toothbrush holder of a disappearing
revolving type door to provide a flush chrome panel when closed"
for the bathroom.
Two vertical fluorescent sun and ozone lamps for the bathroom,
which were advertised to provide "the right amount of sun-tan along
with general room illumination"
110 square feet of mint green ceramic wall tile.
36 square feet of 9"x9" dark green vinyl floor tile.
A 1953-1954 GE built-in dishwasher.
A sample of "red linen laminate" to use in reproducing counter tops
for the kitchen.
A 1953-1954 Westinghouse tabletop water heater (40 or 50 gallon).
Metal wall cabinets for the utility room.
A laundry sink.
A Nutone Westinghouse door chime.
A Nutone radio and record changer.
Wooden storm doors with the glass/screen interchangeable inserts.
Any contacts, suppliers, or suggestions would be greatly
appreciated]
