Let me suggest, rather than vendors, specs. You should look for
something with a finish coating that is not going to off-gas
VOCs (volatile organic compounds). Such would be residuals of
the solvents used in the enamel. These can be avoided by either
insisting on thoroughly baked & cured enamel . . . or, better,
electrostatically applied dry powder epoxy. This may sound
exotic; but our experience has been that the industries,
coating and furniture, are rushing into this high-speed, out of
their own economic self-interest. It saves them money because,
there being no solvents to deal with, it eliminates EPA
compliance costs.
