Hello,
We are in the process of preparing an exhibition for a small museum where
illustrations are to be placed on window shades (approx. 72x60inches) that
visitors can lower to view and then raise to again access the view outside
the window. In order to maximize the accessibility to the broadest range of
visitors we would like to motorize the operation.
We have been exploring the possibility of using the drive mechanisms from
wall or ceiling mounted electric projection screens. Besides the high costs
of such units, we are concerned about the durability of such units with the
repetitive operation it would subjected to in this use. In addition, we
would like to include a timed switch or other means of automating the
raising of the shade once a visitor has left the area or a specified time
has elapsed.
Has anyone used this or a similar technique?
Can anyone recommend sources or manufacturers of these or alternative
mechanisms?
Please respond off list, unless others are interested.
Thank you.
