A tangent to your request, but maybe helpful.
In the early 1970's the NSF sponsored a couple of films by Peter Robinson on
the subject of symmetry.
One was called "Aspects of Symmetry" and the other something similar,
possibly just "Symmetry." The ostensible purpose was to introduce beginning
physics students to the visual pleasures of mirror, rotation and translation
symmetries they would encounter in studying X-Ray crystalography. One was
pure abstraction with no text and the other had a half dozen specialists
describing these symmetries in science, art and daily life. I assume the
NSF can diret you to them.
