Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst
Department: Budgeting and Planning
Reports to: Director of Budgeting and Planning
Responsibilities:
1. Working in the Department of Budgeting and Planning, the Senior Financial Analyst generates, monitors, and updates the annual operating and capital program budgets for national and international operations. Requires interaction with senior Museum staff from all departments.
2. Position works closely with all Museum departments to generate exhibition budgets.
3. Responsible for specific departmental and project budgets, the Analyst must produce reports and analyses on a regular basis to assess operations for each area/project.
4. The Analyst also produces business plans for new programs as well as accompanying reports and presentations.
5. Conducts special projects and analyses as required.
6. Departmental responsibilities include: Long range planning, cash flow documents, monthly reports, financial systems, insurance management, capital and operating budgeting and tracking, etc.
7. The Office works closely with the Department of Finance.
Qualifications:
· The candidate should have experience working with budgets, financial models, and a familiarity with accounting.
· An undergraduate degree and financial experience are required. A graduate degree in a related field (MBA, Non-profit Management, Museum Studies) is highly desirable.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word are required. Experience working with Lotus, Windows and DOS environments, accounting software, and Microsoft Access and Project are desirable.
· Candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills, an attention to detail, and a desire to work in a stimulating and demanding environment.
· Individual must be a strong team player with the ability to work well in groups.
