Education and Learning Co-ordinator
The Alberta Museums Association has an exciting opportunity for an
individual interested in playing a vital role in the development of all aspects
of learning within Alberta's museum community. Reporting to the
Executive Director, the Education and Learning Co-ordinator is charged
with:
- the design and implementation of the Training and Professional
Development Program offered by the Alberta Museums Association,
including helping to formulate goals and objectives, needs assessment,
curriculum development, delivery of courses, marketing and evaluation
- serving as a member of the Alberta Museums Association's Museums
Advisory Unit, including counselling in areas of museum training and
professional development, public programming, exhibit design and
grants plus delivery of mini-workshops
- providing support for collaborative ventures, including the School
Heritage Fair Project and other partnerships.
Applicants will have a university degree in a relevant discipline, combined
with demonstrated experience and knowledge of museum operating
procedures, good organizational skills, excellent interpersonal
communication skills, experience in working in a team environment and a
willingness to travel and work weekends as required. Preference will be
given to a candidate with adult education training and experience. A valid
driver's licence is necessary.
Salary is commensurate with education and experience. A full benefit
package is offered.
