I couldn't resist.

I would suggest you walk along the side of the road rather than on the
road. Drivers in New York City are as dangerous as anyone lurking in the
park.

Seriously, pick up a guide to Central Park to make the walk more
enjoyable. The park is also a museum with an interesting collection if
you know where to look.
