POSITION AVAILABLE - GRANTS OFFICER
The Museum seeks a grants officer responsible for all facets of the
grantswriting process, from initial draft stages through final report.
Reporting to the deputy director of institutional advancement, the grants
officer works closely with key professional staff in the curatorial,
education, and other departments inidentifying funding priorities and
pursuing appropriate grant sources.
Candidates for this position should have at B.A. and at least two years of
relevant experience in developing and securing government, corporate, and
foundation grants, preferably in a visual arts (museum) environment.
Excellent writing, research, computer, and organizational skills are
required, as well as an ability to work well with a diverse constituency.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working on several grant projects

POSITION AVAILABLE -- DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION
The director of education is a key member of the museum's senior management
team and plays a central role in forwarding the museum's mission and
activities. This position is reponsibile for planning and implementing all
facets of the Museum's educational programs, including a year-round art
school for adults and children, tours for school and community groups,
lecture and special events for the public, an active docentry and off-campus
outreach activities. Reporting to the director of the museum, the curator of
education works closely with the curator of collections and exhibitions,
curator of Native American art, deputy director of institutional
advancement,and director of communictaions. One full-time education
assistant/art school registrar and one part-time education assistant/docent
coordinator report to the director of education.
Candidates for this position should have at least four years of experience
in developing and presenting public programs in the visual arts (preferably
in the museum environment), excellent lecture and writing skills, and an
ability to work well with a diverse constituency of students, staff and
volunteers. A background in American art is essential, as are demonstrated
management skills in organizing and marketing educational programs. Send
