Betreff:Kopie von: Exhibition on emigrants from the Rineland and the
Rhineland-Palatinat
Dear Mr. Pearce,
I got your e-mail address and your message on the above mentioned topic from my
friend Roger Smith of Down Under.
I'm executive director of the Rhine Open-Air Museum and States Museum for
Folklore, one of the major museums of its kind in Europe.
For the year 2001 I'm planning an exhibition on emigrants from the Rhineland and
the Rhineland-Palatinate, exactly the area of the former Rhine Province, be it
for religious, political or economic reasons. The time to cover is from the very
beginnings to nowadays times.
In the early stages of planning, I'm looking for scientists, museum experts and
others to help me with research, exhibits, writing papers for the catalogue etc.
End July by Agust 15 I'll visit different places in the USA. It would be very
much appreciated, if you could provide contacts of experts to meet and to
discuss the proceedings.
Many thanks in advance for supporting me.
Dieter Pesch
