POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
CURATOR OF EXHIBITS
Challenging opportunity to lead the artistic staff of one of the
Southeast's most progressive natural history museums (AAM accredited).
The Curator of Exhibits will be chiefly responsible for exhibit design,
providing renderings, scale models and production drawings for permanent
and changing exhibits. This position will play a key role in the
development of exhibit concepts, themes, and presentation. Current
projects include a diorama-based hall featuring Alabama environments and
the development of new approaches to the display of anthropolgy
collections. The Curator will collaborate on fabrication
processes and exhibit construction, and will be involved in a variety of
other creative projects. Candidates must possess strong communication
skills and enjoy the group dynamics necessary to produce innovative
exhibits. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in an
appropriate discipline and three year's experience in a museum or
