Seattle's Museum of History and Industry is happy to announce its 1997
summer internship. Bridging the departments of interpretation and
collections, the focus of the internship is to create a collections
management system for the museum's hands-on education collection. Working
with the collections manager and a public historian, the intern will:
assess and inventory the collection;
design a computer- and card-based catalog system;
design a system for tracking use and condition of collection objects;
design a storage and location plan by period, type of object, etc.
This internship is unpaid. If the intern is from out-of-town, the museum
will assist in finding room and board for the duration of the internship.
The Museum of History and Industry collects, preserves, and exhibits the
history of Seattle, King County, and the greater Puget Sound region.
