Michele White asked:
"I am seeking information about the contestation over the name "Louvre." In
1994 the Louvre in Paris questioned Nicolas Pioch's right to call his
on-line museum the Louvre. Pioch changed the name of his museum to
WebLouvre and then WebMuseum under pressure from the Paris institution".
I remember that in 1994 Pioche documented the on going legal wrangle on his
Louvre site between the Louvre and himeslf by using a characture of the
legal representative of the Louvre. As far as I know he never actually
published the results of this legal action - I also would like to hear the
outcome of this contestation if anyone has any form of documentation.
