No, no no! Foster Grants were a little-known foundation largess
back in the 'Fifties. That's the origin of the popular expression
among NFP people in the South, said to colleagues who were going up
to NYC: "While you are up [in the Big Apple] will you get me a
[Foster] Grant?"
