Sorry, Ivy, this one is all too true.  It was in all the newspapers I've
seen in the last week (I've been in several cities).  A PhD candidate
in San Diego -- yes, during the Republican National Convention --
shot and killed his advisor and the two others on his committee before he even
began his defense.  He had snuck into the room early and hidden a gun
in a first aid kit.

I know grad school can be high pressure, but geez!
