Here we go again.
For the fourth (and final) panel on popular culture and the public image
of museums, my colleagues and I will be dealing with museums as portrayed
on television. We will be looking at comedy and drama presentations as
well as commercials, though we are excluding cartoons because they are a
separate line of study.
We are looking for good, bad, and outrageous portrayals of museums and/or
museum people in any context. As always, we will make our lists available
after the presentation at AAM.
Please reply to me off-list if you know of productions, episodes, or
commercials that deserve to be included. Your comments are welcome, too.
(Yes, we are planning to publish the results of the past 5 year's worth
of work on this subject!)
Many thanks, as always, for the great help and commentary from the
MUSEUM-L community.
