Jose,
A couple of years ago I saw a signage in the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington
D. C. the title of which was "Why we ask you not to touch". It impressed me
very much because it did not consider visitors to be potential enemies but
on the contrary included them in responsibility for conservation. (I think
it was a little masterpiece of applied psychology as well). I did some ad
hoc private "statistics" the result of which was that practically everybody
read the text and nobody touched the objects (at least during the two hours
of my stay). Maybe they can give you information.
Greetings,
Fritz
