Sanni wrote with questions (and frustration) about the jobs posted
in Aviso. Having found jobs for myself and hired candidates through
ads in Aviso and Dispatch, I tend to think most of the ads are legit.
Some are pro forma, and in other cases there is an in-house candidate
who the museum wants to evaluate against the field. The competition
is fierce, especially for new graduates. Use every personal connection
you have to find out about openings where there is not time for a national
search, and, if you have a target location, look into county, city and
other employee offices that might even send you a card when positions in
your area come open. Do informational interviews when possible. And
hold on to hope while doing everything you can to help yourself.
