The national museums of Canada are all completely bilingual. This means:
a. all signage is in both languages
b. all labels are in both languages
c. all publications, maps, guides are in both languages
d. a balance in programming is maintained between the languages, such as in
films being shown or (preferably) versions in both languages are used. This
also applies to taped commentaries.
e. ALL staff who can be expected to have ANY contact with visitors are required
to be THOROUGHLY bilingual.
It's pretty simple, really. Either you do it ALL or you have problems.
