What salary--this is a good question. Aside from looking at salary
surveys, I would take into consideration the cost of
living in your local community:
For example:
What is the rental cost of a one bedroom apartment in a
decent neighborhood? What is the average cost of a car payment?
And so forth. I would recommend that you put together a cost of
living budget for your community, taking into account extra for
savings, recreation, etc. This would make a likely post tax
salary that the average person could live on comfortably.
Just my two cents and glad you asked.
