LIBRARY SHOP MANAGER

SALARY RANGE: $27,403-$41,841 (GRADE 11)

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages and operates the Library of Virginia's Library Shop, a
retail outlet for publications, reproductions from the
collection, and materials relating to the Library's mission.
Supervises Library Shop staff; performs direct sales to
customers and staff; implements a strategic plan in acquiring
appropriate inventory; develops a marketing plan for the
Library Shop; and oversees product development.  Bachelor's
degree in education, business, or merchandising-related field
preferred.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Demonstrated knowledge of retail store operations and business
management practices.  Knowledge of related merchandising
methods and procedures, business and accounting functions, and
regulations governing nonprofit retail operations.  Skill in
operating point-of-sale cash registers and inventory control
software.  A valid driver's license and security check required.
