I'm not sure from your phrasing whether you mean the natural processes
which preserve bone in situ (all the various taphonomic processes) or
the various lab-based processes and materials used to extend the stability
and durability of bone (hopefully) in a collection. Please advise, and I
wil send along some references on either.
