   BIBLIOGRAPHY OF THE HISTORY OF ART -- THE NEWEST CITADEL FILE

The Research Libraries Group (RLG) is pleased to announce a major
new art research file available through CitaDel, our article
citations and document delivery service.

At the beginning of December, the Bibliography of the History of Art
(BHA) will be released for general use. This file is a joint
creation of the Getty Information Institute (GII) in California and
the Institut de l'Information Scientifique et Technique du Centre de
la Recherche Scientifique (INIST-CNRS) in France.

This version of BHA is unique. It includes and extends the coverage
of its two well-known predecessor art indexes -- RILA (International
Repertory of the Literature of Art) and RAA (Repertoire d'Art et
d'Archeologie). For the first time, _exclusively in CitaDel,_ users
will be able to search all three indexes through one, integrated
database -- over the Internet or through an RLG CompuServe
connection.

The CitaDel BHA file covers the broadest scope of literature on
Western art, from the fine arts of painting, drawing, sculpture, and
architecture to photography, industrial design, folk art, new media,
and related topics in music, history, and literature. Its
historical and geographical coverage is also extensive, ranging from
the 4th century A.D. to the present, and from the artistic
production of Europe and the New World to art anywhere in the world
that reflects contact with the Western tradition.

Librarians, scholars, and professionals in the field of art have
long recognized both the quality and scope of this bibliographic
