Perhaps this is a dead issue (I had a week's worth of e-mail built up) but I
felt the need to comment on this thread.
I wonder if people are commenting on this post without considering all of the
facts. There are a lot of museums and public agencies out there where the
job description probably ought to include a statement about the need to "do
the windows" and "repair shingles." Different places have different
needs--and surely that must include their constituent or audience base.
Maybe the membership base is 6 and taking care of the program takes up 20
minutes weekly.
My point is that I am not certain that it is the proper role of the list to
question a job post without these important bits of info. I think we would
all agree that the sixty or so hours a week we put in was never in the job
description we read upon interviewing for our current positions.
If indeed the Columbus Landmarks Commission position is underfunded, let them
work it out for themselves--they will soon realize it if no potential
applicant wishes to pursue an interview.
