Dear Jim:
It is a very interesting issue that you raise. I wonder what criteria do
you use in estimating successfulness of museum sites.
I am currently doing a study of museum home pages and face the same problem.
My approach is, what do museum pages have in common, what seems to be a
necessary attribute of a museum site on the web, what works and what does
not.
I am particularly interested in small museums having their sites on the web.
What difficulties do they face?
I would really appreciate if you could share with me any references on
recent writings on the subject. And here are some helpful web pages with
general information which, I hope, can be of help in your research:
