CURATOR OF COLLECTIONS
The San Diego Historical Society, a major regional cultural institution operating four historic
museums, seeks a curator with strong collection management skills.
Primary responsibilities include establishing and overseeing policies and procedures for the
preservation, academic interpretation, exhibition of the collections and future acquisitions.
Successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of conservation, exhibition techniques,
accreditation standards, collection management databases and experience with budget
development.
Qualifications: M.A. (Ph.D. preferred) history, museum studies, or other relevant field. A
minimum of three years of demonstrated work experience in a museum setting. Must possess
excellent verbal and written communication skills. Competitive salary plus attractive benefit
