I have to put in a good word for our director, who knows nothing about
museums, but can handle our Board so that we can do our jobs. Best of all, he
lets us do the museum work and does not have a huge ego about taking credit.
Bottom line, obtaining money and facilitating the Board versus staff (why oh
why must it always be like that) are must-have skills for any director.
