Which prepare a complete survey of products for it's member
and finally selected Micromusee (from Mobydoc, Toulouse
France, e-mail : [log in to unmask] , contact Patrick Faure)
and SNbase...
I personnally use Micromusee for my museum and am more
than satisfied... The windows version is especially
powerful, easy to use and it 100 % integrated with the needs of
the modern collection manager (including graphics and photo
support etc...) It's a complete outfit which you can use from the
registration process to the cataloguing and every-day management
of your collection: loans, movements, reports of all sort etc...
Beside the Societe des Musees Quebecois
you should also visit the Canadian Heritage Information
Network web site at:
http://www.chin.gc.ca
and especially it's "collection management software review" at:
http://www.chin.gc.ca/CHIN/DatabaseAccess/CMSER/e_HomePage.html
Sadly, for the later you'll need a subscribtion to their services. But you
could also get a printed copy (already 2 volumes published) for
a fee (and it's costly...)
The best could be to borrow a copy from a canadian museum.
