Jennifer, I suggest turning to local history sources near Port
Arthur--aren't they likely to have old photographs of interiors which
will help?  I don't know if it's true for Australia, but descendants of
Welsh immigrants have some rather strong connections here (even two
Welsh-American newspapers, _Ninnau_ and _Y Drych_--if there are similar
ones in Australia I suspect they'd be happy to publish an inquiry for
photographs (or even items to be donated).

We do have other sources for interiors of that date, but I'd hesitate to
use North American models for Australian history.

electronic lists H-Local, PublHist and Heritage (or give you their
addresses for you to write to).  Please let me know.
