I may be coming into this a little late -- but a few months ago at the
Andrea Rosen Gallery in New York there was an artist who displayed cubes
of gelatin in which bullets were shot into.
The work was also displayed with c-prints (by another artists whose name
escapes me) of very darkly funny imagery of a 70s-looking character
pointing a huge gun at (what looked like) stuffed zebras, and so on, and
was probably taken at a natural history museum.
I'm sure if you call the gallery they'd be delighted to get information
to you.
