The discussion on securing a future for the Wright/Curtiss material leaves
out one key factor. It is quite affordable for most museums to copy this
kind of material. The key point is to keep intellectual control over the
bulk of the records. To think all is lost because the original documents end
up in the hand of collectors is wrong-headed. Xeroxing and the making copy
negatives of the photgraphs will solve the problem - from an archival veiw
point.

Presumably the present owner would cooperate in such a venture. If not, he
is a profiteer - not a museum proffesional.

As far as who has the "original signed document" who cares - its the
information we are after folks!
