The distinctions among Anglo-, Hispano-, and Euro-Americans are
pretty commonly made in the southwestern US, especially when
relating the traditions and cultures of Indian nations with the non-Indians
who invaded their areas. This was, after all, the "far north" to Spanish-
speaking colonists long before it was the "far west" to English-speaking
colonists.
