Thanks Jeanne--I knew that Children's Museums had a special definition in
some manner and your elaboration was detailed and useful.  The "museum" in
question calls itself the Museum of Fine Art. No collection. They have had
and intend to continue to have programming for children in particular--but
most of what has been done before is more of the "day camp" sort of
thing--face painting etc.

To what extent is a Children's Museum distinctive from, say a preschool or
an elementary school?
