I think not being "teacher-like" means object-based and inter-active as
opposed to
text-based and passive. Also an increased use of Affective and
sensory-motor skills, as opposed to a greater reliance on cognitive skills.
Most museum educators from children's museums and others subscribe to
standard learning/developmental theory etc. In fact museum educators are
actively involved in audience research, research on how people learn
etc. Witness Harvard's Project Muse, work done by Philip Yenawine and
Abigail Housen, Beth Twiss-Garrity, etc.
