In response to the following message from Jadranka Bacic, sent October
9, 1996:
"I am a 4th year Honours student in History at Carleton University
in Ottawa. I am interested in pursuing a master's degree in museum
studies or any other related pogram. Does anyone have any information
regarding such a program, preferably in Canada? Your help would be
greatly appreciated."
Have a look at the Heritage Forum at the Web site of the Canadian
Heritage Information Network (CHIN) at http://www.chin.gc.ca, under
the topic heading "Museum Studies Programs". There you will find
links to several Canadian university and college programs.
The Canadian Museums Association has published a booklet, _Museum
Studies Programs in Canada / Programmes de formation mus‚ologique au
Canada_ (1993), which includes institutions and organizations offering
programs and courses in museum studies.
A point of information: the Heritage Forum is designed to provide
current, organized information to meet the needs of museum and other
heritage professionals. We welcome feedback and participation - if
you have documentation (studies, reports, papers) or know of Web sites
that would interest your peers, please get in touch.
