ASSISTANT VISUAL RESOURCE MANAGER
JOB FUNCTION:
Serves as principal assistant to the VRL Manager, performing all duties
necessary to the daily functioning of the Visual Resource Library.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assists in the daily management of slide and photograph collections.
2. Performs archival processing of slides and other photographic
materials.
3. Coordinates photography processing orders for library and Museum
staff with Photography Department and local processing lab.
4. Assists and supervises intern in receiving and processing slide and
photography sales requests and payments.
5. Works closely with Museum staff in all departments of to provide
visual materials in support of research, programs and publications. 6.
Assists public patrons with circulation and sales of photographic
materials and information about DMA Collections and exhibitions.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Other duties as assigned by the Visual Resource Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's degree in Art History, Studio Art, or Library Science.
Graduate degree or work toward a graduate degree in the arts is
strongly preferred. Significant background in Art History required.
2. Experience required in all areas of a visual resources collection.
3. Familiarity with personal computer software, digital technology, and
database management.
4. Ability to work under pressure, prioritize workload, and pay
attention to detail.
Salary 18-20K + full benefits.
