A question was recently posted about when the results of the Institute of Museum
Services' 1996 General Operating Support program would be available.

General Operating Support awards will be announced on September 6, 1996.  You
can phone our program office at (202) 606-8539 to find out if your museum was
funded or check our web site at www.ims.fed.us/ that day.  Conservation Project
Support awards will be announced the same day and the information will also be
on the web site.  It's all accessible from the first page of our web site.  Two
programs have already been announced:  Museum Leadership Initiatives awards on
August 16 and Professional Services Program grants on August 23.  These are
availabe at our web site too.
