The Center for Museum Studies at the Smithsonian Institution helps museums
fulfill their public service mission through courses, fellowships and
other professional support.
We are now accepting proposals for the sixth annual Fellowships in Museum
Practice, a professional development opportunity dedicated to helping
museum staff increase their expertise and leadership. An award enables
experienced personnel to spend time at the Smithsonian investigating a
topic of importance to the field. Fellowships are individually designed.
Applications are accepted until February 14, 1997 for projects beginning
after October 15, 1997.
For guidelines and application procedures, contact Nancy Fuller, Center
for Museum Studies, MRC 427, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, DC
20560. Telephone: 202-357-3101; Fax: 202-357-3346; or send e-mail to
