I have used the AAT (both in electronic format and book form) and believe
it to be a great tool in terms of object description but I have a couple of
questions:
1) I volunteer at a local museum in which the photo collection
represents a small fraction of the total object collection. This would be a
fantastic time to start a descriptive AAT classification of their
photographs, but it is believed by others within the institution that this
would upset classification activites. Are there any success stories out
there where the AAT was used only within one department sharing a networked
database for collection objects? How was your administration convinced of
the AAT's value to your museum's mission?
2) Any word whether a MAC version of the AAT is going to happen? It
would be very nice.....!
Thanks in advance.
